Holy crap, San Pedro is a lake!

I mean....look at this! This is not normal!

Currently, my house is in the clear. We live on top of a slab of bedrock on slightly higher ground than most of San Pedro. Most of the flooding took place on 4th and Grand. Oh, and on top of that we had a waterspout off the coast of Long Beach yesterday and I guess half the parents of my mom's students went "O noes tornado!" and yanked their kids out of class. Calm down, guys. Waterspouts do not equal tornados.

Maybe we need....a boat!

(note: strong language)

Ok, ok, that was a cheap shot. Sorry.

Thank you for your thoughts. The last storm is supposed to run its course by Friday night, so if we make it until then we'll be fine. People forget that Los Angeles is mostly pavement and that, as a result, there's nothing here to absorb the water.

This is the first time I've ever seen tornado warnings, though. Creepy and cool at the same time.
