Ok, if you've ever been to Pier 39 in San Francisco, you know how freaking creepy this is.

Where did you go??? *sadface*

Oh, the privileges of citizenship

So odds are I'm going to have to make the trek to the Federal Courthouse in the heart of Los Angeles at some ungodly hour for jury duty tomorrow. I won't know for sure until after 7:00 pm tonight when I can check again. Hopefully it wont interfere with whatever merriment Dad has in mind for New Years.

Does anyone have any idea where I'm supposed to park for this thing?

Edit (8:43 pm): Woohoo! I do not have to report for jury duty tomorrow and I don't have to call in again until the 4th. But I'll probably check every day anyway cause I'm paranoid like that.

Drive by totem pole!

Oh shoot. It's Sunday and I haven't posted a random picture yet. Uh....uhhh....*searches frantically*

Totem Pole!

There. Random enough for ya? And yes, this is a picture from Alaska. I'm going to have to create an account on photobucket or some other picture hosting website and then put the link here because there are a lot of pictures.

I think I can hear children crying...

So God's not making pierogis this year.

She's been really, really, sick and doesn't have the energy to make them this year, even if I help, which I usually do anyway.

After a quick search on wikipedia to see if I'm spelling "pierogi" right, I have discovered that pierogi is actually the plural, the singular being pierĂ³g. From now on we shall be using this form. If you don't know or can't remember what pierogi are, click here:

Where was I? Oh yeah, the tears of small children. So yeah, pierogi are extremely labor intensive. The dough and the filling are both made from scratch and then you have to chill the dough, roll it out into thin layers, and then boil each individual pierogi once they're assembled. Once that's all done, the pierogi are grilled up with chopped onions shortly before serving. This time of year is usually madness around here and this year God just doesn't have the energy for it.

So instead I guess we're going to bake some cookies. I'm baking my own cookies for Evan and Kyra on top of a couple other things I have to make. It should be no surprise by now that everyone who lives out of state who I said was going to get a Christmas present is not actually going to get them in time for Christmas. I'm sorry guys :( It's been extra crazy around here with Finals and my mom being sick and all. Everyone who's getting presents will definitely get them by Twelfth Night. Except Scott and Eden. Because they live in Canada. And because for some reason the Canadian postal system and the U.S. postal system seem to hate each other.

God just announced to my aunt that she's not going to be making pierogi this year. I honestly don't know how Evan and Kyra are going to react. I don't even know what the three of us are going to eat on Christmas Eve to be honest with you. Usually the only other thing available is some kind of tasteless meat dish and vegetables. It's gonna be a sad, sad, Christmas...

One does not simply walk into Mordor...

Is is secret...?

Is it safe...?

Yaaaaaay, Finals are officially over!

Stay tuned for new and exciting updates on holiday madness and possibly some important announcements! Gods, I'm glad that's over.

Oh yeah, and Timmy's happy too.

Break on through to the other side...

So it's that time of year again. That annual clusterfuck known as Final Exam Week is upon us once again. Well, me, anyway. There's always one or two teachers who try to beat the rush by giving their final exams the week before the scheduled finals week. This semester I have three who are doing that, which creates more rush for me instead of less. But at least they'll be over with sooner I guess.

*taking a sip of coffee* The coffee shop at my school makes you grind your own cinnamon. What's up with that?

Anyway, expect me to be disappeared for the next two weeks or so. I have three finals this week and three finals next week, despite only having five classes. One professor decided to split the exam into two parts. I'm not sure how helpful this actually is, but both parts are online and open book, so who am I to complain?

I'll try and post about the NaNoWriMo Thank God It's Over party if I get out there this weekend. If I do happen to make it to the party and don't manage to get a post out this weekend, rest assured I'll write a post about it after finals are over. In any case, I'll be back after the 16th.

See you guys on the other side.
